“Beside Gabriel sat the angel Recorder. He dutifully entered into his ledger the record of two destinies: First, the divine breath, or the very Spirit of God. And second, the seed, an inheritance of God’s Word to be planted deep inside the heart of a person.
The Recorder asked Gabriel, “And who shall these destinies become after they go through the door to the visible universe?”
Gabriel replied softly, “Each, in his time, shall be a king.”
So ends the Prologue of Gene Edward’s classic book on Christian leadership, A Tale of Three Kings.
The book traces the biblical narrative of Kings Saul, David, and Absalom. And it compares their route to the throne by analyzing their response to authority and understanding of grace. And it speaks to the priority of intimacy with God.
I modified the above paragraph slightly for readability here. But the book is a spiritual masterpiece for learning how to lead others by leading yourself in the pursuit of following God’s will.
There’s another story of three kings unfolding right now.
This is the story of you…and us – Josh Monen and Joshua Lee Henry. But unlike the competitive, bloodthirsty relationship of Saul, David, and Absalom…
We’re here to support you… encourage you… and join you in your journey of Christ-centered leadership, whether it’s leading your family, your marriage, your business, or your church or community.
We certainly don’t have everything figured out. But we know who does.
In an age when Christian men are often portrayed as the “enemy,” we felt called to create The Way of Kings as a means of forming a brotherhood… a spiritual squadron to have your back…
And to start a movement that will shake the marketplace and nations and honor King Jesus in spectacular and marvelous ways.
As a man, leader, and follower of Christ, you are called to lead with power and authority… truth and grace.
This is the definition of a servant king—a shepherd king who, like David, knew that all power and righteousness comes from the Good Shepherd.
Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search it out.”
You are called for more. To search out, find, and seize all that Christ has in store for you.
And we want to help you achieve it for the Kingdom.
Let’s seek more of God’s glory together.
